Stevie Nicks recorded The Soundstage Sessions live last year, supported by a killer band featuring Waddy Wachtel on lead guitar and a string section that really adds to slower numbers such as Beauty and the Beast.
At 60, Nicks still packs the same raspy, sultry voice from her Fleetwood Mac and early solo days.
The album is a little skimpy on songs, including only 10 tracks. With such an extensive back catalogue, Nicks excluded a good number of hits.
What you do get, though, is a rocking version of Stand Back, as well as lush versions of Sara and Landslide. A bonus is a new and unique interpretation of the Dave Matthews Band’s Crash Into M.
Filling out the album are the songs If Anyone Falls In Love, How Still My Love, Circle Dance, Fall From Grace and Sorcerer.
